European Challenge Championships Cheddar 2006

The European Challenge Championships took place at Broadway House, Cheddar, last weekend with over 1,500 riders from all over Europe and over 50 riders in almost all of the age groups. Tiverton BMX Club had six riders taking part. Eddie Moore, Josh Moore, Oliver Fay, Connor Hallett, Bethan Hallett and Ben Blake. The quality of riding at this event was outstanding, both fast and impressive with many spills as each rider did all they could to make it through to the next round of racing.
Eddie Moore fought hard in the 7year old age group, he just missed out on a place in the quarters, Brother Josh, in the 8year olds, made it through to the quarters and the semi final, he raced well against some top class riders but his day ended with the semi final.
Connor Hallett and Ben Blake faced the largest age groups, Connor raced in the 13year old age group and Ben in the 14’s both gave it their best although the outstanding quality of the European riders robbed them of getting through to the quarter finals. Ben also featured in the 13/14 Cruisers but again the European riders kept him out.
Bethan Hallett, who is currently World No.8 in her age group, has added another Ranking to her collection by finishing  2nd throughout all her motos and 5th  place in the overall final, giving her E5.
Well done to all of the Tiverton riders, you did us proud.

Excellent results for some at Weston

Emma Coles rode well, taking 1st place in the 10's and under girls, with Rebecca Hill behind her in 2nd place.
In the 8's and under boys, Oliver Fay stormed ahead in 1st place.
The 9-10 age group proved exciting with Ryan Stack taking a tumble leaving the path clear, Daniel Hill kept his cool and took advantage taking 1st place.
11-12 age group had tough competition, Sam Coles and Jason Fay had to battle to keep their positions, Sam finished 3rd leaving Jason to settle for 4th.
Gary Knight made it to the semi's against 42 riders, Andy Maddocks rode well. Tracey Clapton and Luke Tamblyn both fell in their finals. Well done also to Troy Gallagher and Steve Jenks for taking part and giving it their best shot.
Great results for T & J racing, Steve will be proud with three of his team taking 1st place.
