| National Round 6
Tredegar 11th - 12th August 2007 |

The final round in the British Cycling
National series took place at Tredegar in Wales. Tensions were high and the
racing was fast and furious with this round being double points and rankings
at stake.
Ten of Tivertons finest riders made the journey with excellent results all
around.
In 6 and under class Ryan O’Loughlin really gave Josh Coppin some hard work
although Josh took 4th place the steadily improving Ryan was very
close behind in 5th.
Brothers Eddie and Josh Moore raced well, Eddie took 4th in the 8
year old class while Josh racing in the 9’s took 7th.
Sam Hann raced well in the 13/14 age group, qualifying through the semi to
race the A final and finishing in 7th place.
Meanwhile the tension was high in the 15/16 age group with Jason Fay and Ben
Blake, Jason really made the last round count by qualifying for the A final
and taking 5th while Ben took 7th in the B final.
Shannon Blake, in 7-9 girls, had a good race finishing 3rd in the
B final while Paula Hallett took 5th in 25+ ladies.
Tivertons shining star had to be Bethan Hallett in 10-12 girls, Bethan took
a very early lead and increased the distance between her and the next rider
with every turn of her pedals, finishing several bike lengths in front of
everyone in each and every moto to take 1st place and ultimately
win the National series.

| National Round 5
Coppull 30th June - 1st July 2007 |
Horrendous rain didn’t put off the eight
Tiverton BMX Club riders, who travelled to Coppull in Lancashire for round 5
of the BC BMX National series.
Josh Coppin was unlucky in the 6 under class after taking a fall in both the
first two motos, he then had to settle for the B final which he won in
style, leaving team mate Ryan O’Loughlin clear to go through to the A final
where he finished 7th.
Eddie Moore finished 3rd in the 8 year olds while brother Josh
took 4th in the 9’s.
Sam Hann raced well in the 13/14 age group, despite a great run for the line
in the semi, Sam had to settle for the B final and 4th place.
Ben Blake also rode well through the motos only to miss out in the semi, Ben
took 8th in the B final, sister Shannon rode a steady race in 7-9
girls, finishing a well deserved 3rd.
Tivertons Star rider was Bethan Hallett, who stormed out of the gate and
bike lengths away from everyone, finished 1st throughout.

| National Round 3 and 4 @
Peterborough 16th - 17th June 2007 |

Fantastic racing from the twelve
Tiverton riders that travelled to Peterborough for National Round 3 and 4,
which also saw the introduction of Saturday racing.
Tiverton’s three ‘Pocket Rockets’ took part in the 6 under age group, Josh
Coppin, Ryan O’Loughlin and Harry Roberts, who was jumping in with both feet
with his first ever race being at National level, Josh rode an excellent
race to finish 2nd overall with Ryan 5th and Harry
took 2nd in the B final.
Eddie Moore rode steady in the 8 yrs to finish 3rd while Brother
Josh took 6th in the 9’s.
Oliver Fay had tough competition in 11/12 age group being in the younger end
of the group, Oliver finished 5th in the B final.
Sam Hann really gave it his best shot in 13/14 age group, he rode
excellently throughout the motos, quarters and semis to qualify for his
first ever National A final which he raced with style to finish a very well
deserved 6th out of 40 riders.
Jason Fay and Ben Blake found the going tough in 15/16 age group, Jason took
1st in the B final while Ben went out in the quarter finals, Bens
sister Shannon rode a steady race in 7-9 girls finishing in 6th
overall, while Bethan Hallett took 5th in 10-12 girls.
Steve Jenks, Tivertons oldest rider, put some of the younger riders to shame
by making the A final and finishing a highly commended 7th.
Sunday saw better weather and even better results.
Josh Coppin rode hard to take 2nd in 6 under while Ryan
O’Loughlin and Harry Roberts took 2nd and 4th
respectively in the B final.
Brothers Josh and Eddie Moore rode well in their age groups with Eddie
taking 3rd Josh 5th.
Oliver Fay improved on his Saturday position by taking 3rd in the
B final in the 11/12 age group, while in 13/14 age group, Sam Hann again
rode an excellent race, showing his training and hard work is playing off by
finishing 5th.
Jason Fay and Ben Blake in 15/16’s also improved on their positions with
Jason 7th in the A final, Ben 6th in the B final.
Shannon Blake in 7-9 girls took a well deserved 4th place while
Bethan Hallett in 10/12 girls, despite a really bad gate in the final made
her way through the pack to take 3rd.
Steve Jenks made the A finals again on Sunday to finish 7th.

| National Round 1 & 2 @
Cheddar 5th - 7th May 2007 |

The bank holiday weekend saw round 1 & 2
of the National series at Cheddar in Somerset. Round 1 took place on the
Sunday with 13 riders from Tiverton BMX club taking part.
In 8 yr age group, Eddie Moore just missed out and didn’t make it through
the semis, while Brother Josh, gained 4th place in the 9 yr olds
with Ryan Allington 4th in the B final.
In the 11-12 age group, Tiverton had Oliver Fay, who gained 5th
with Callum Webber in 7th, while Sam Hann had to settle for 8th
in the B final in the 13 – 14 age group.
Tough racing followed in the 15-16’s with Jason Fay and Ben Blake giving it
their best shot, Ben finishing 8th in the A final, Jason 4th
in the B final.
Shannon Blake rode well to gain 8th in 7 – 9 girls while Bethan
Hallett racing in 10-12 girls gained 3rd.
In 16-29 cruiser Tiverton had Peter Moore and Ian Wheeler, Pete took 4th
place in the B final with Ian just missing out.
Tiverton’s only lady rider, Paula Hallett gained a well deserved 7th
place in 25+ ladies.
Wind and heavy rain didn’t stop the racing for Round 2 on the Monday, with
even more riders from Tiverton taking part.
In the 6 under class Josh Coppin and Ryan O’Loughlin raced their first
national event with great results for both of them, Josh took them by storm
to finish in 4th place with Ryan 6th in the B final.
Eddie Moore had a better day in the 8’s with 2nd in the B final.
Josh Moore and Ryan Allington both qualified for the B final in the 9 year
old class to finish 1st and 5th respectively.
In the 11-12 class Callum Webber and Oliver Fay faced each other, both
qualifying for the B final with Callum taking 2nd Oliver 3rd,
while in 13-14 class, Sam Hann had a slightly better day taking 6th
in the B final.
Jason Fay had the upper hand over Ben Blake in the 15-16’s Jason qualified
for the A final and took 5th while Ben had to settle for the B
final and 6th.
Shannon Blake had a great day taking 5th in the 7-9 girls.
Bethan Hallett became Tiverton’s Star rider by taking a well deserved 1st
place in the 10-12 girls with Mum Paula 5th in 25+ ladies.

| National Round 4 @
Cheddar

Last weekend saw round 4 of the British
Cycling National Series at Broadway House Cheddar. Eleven riders
from Tiverton BMX Club took part.
Ryan Allington in the 14 under novices raced
well taking 3rd place overall.
Eddie Moore in the 7 year olds finished in 7th
while Brother Josh took a well deserved 3rd place in the 8's.
Oliver Fay in the 10 year olds raced hard
taking 3rd place overall.
In
the 11-12 age group Callum Webber worked hard throughout the motos but
didn't make it to the finals.
Excitement and disappointment followed in the
13-14 age group with Ben Blake, Sam Hann and Connor Hallett, Ben flew
through his motos taking 1st all the way, qualifying through the quarters
and semis, he stormed the final and looked sure to cross in 1st but was
cruelly pushed up the berm and had to be content with 7th overall, while
Sam and Connor fought hard through their motos, both qualified for the
quarters, but the all important 4th place was just out of their reach.
In the 7-9 girls, Tiverton had Shannon Blake
who finished in 8th overall, while Bethan Hallett put in a good effort in
the 10-12 girls finishing in 3rd overall. Paula Hallett rode a steady race
finishing in 7th place.

| National Round 3 @
Tredegar, Wales

Despite the horrendous weather ten riders from
Tiverton BMX Club spent last weekend in Tredegar, Wales for Round 3 of the
BMX National series.
Tivertons only novice, Ryan Allington raced
well finishing 4th overall. While the girls worked very hard, Bethan
Hallett, in 10 - 12 girls gained 2nd place overall and in the 7 - 9 girls,
Shannon Blake managed a highly commendable 4th.
The Moore Brothers both raced well with Eddie
taking 3rd in the 7's and Josh 2nd in the 8 year old age group, whilst
Oliver Fay gave it his best shot in the 10yrs group finishing 3rd overall.
Callum Webber raced well in the 11-12 age
group, he did well to make the B final, finishing in 6th place.
Three of Tivertons riders featured in the
13-14 age group, Ben Blake, Connor Hallett and Sam Hann, Ben stormed
through the races taking a well deserved 2nd while Connor and Sam both
suffered in the appalling weather and finished 17th and 26th respectively.

| National Round 1 & 2
Burnham/Cheddar 31st
April- 1st May 2006 |

The winter training has paid off for many Tiverton BMX riders
with great results. The racing season started over the bank holiday weekend
with National series, round 1 at Burnham and round 2 at Cheddar, 14 riders
from Tiverton BMX Club made the journey.
Novice, Ryan Allington raced well at his first ever National, he took a
tumble in his first moto but shook himself down to take mainly 4th on both
days. Eddie Moore raced well taking 2nd place overall at Burnham, Eddie took
a tumble the following day at Cheddar and had to settle for 5th overall,
while his brother Josh, in the 9 year old experts, took 2nd at Burnham and
3rd at Cheddar.
Oliver Fay who raced in the 10 year olds, raced well but had to settle for
6th overall at both Burnham and Cheddar.
The age groups get harder from now on as they are double age groups, in the
11/12 group Tiverton had Daniel Hill, Lee Green and Callum Webber, Daniel
raced well and was away for the win when he was cruelly taken out by another
rider in the semi final, having to settle for B final, which he won in
style, Lee Green put in a great performance and made the B final at Burnham
while Callum just missed out and went out in the quarter finals on both
days.
43 riders in the 13/14 age group making this the toughest age group. Ben
Blake and Jason Fay put in an excellent performance, Ben finished 3rd
overall with Jason 12th, while Sam Hann and Connor Hallett raced
hard but missed out by mere inches in the quarter finals.
Shannon Blake in the 7-9 girls raced really well on both days taking 4th
place overall, Bethan Hallett raced hard to finish 2nd at Burnham
3rd at Cheddar.
Steph Cox featured in the Junior Female finishing in 11th place
overall while Paula Hallett in the 25+ ladies finished 8th. |
