Round 8 & 9
TIVVY BMX RACE EUROPEANS
TIVERTON BMX CLUB WERE AT BURNHAM ON SEA FOR ROUNDS 8 & 9 OF THE NATIONAL SERIES, AND THIS DOUBLE HEADER WEEKEND WAS A TOUCH DIFFERENT, OPEN TO SOME OF THE TOP EUROPEANS RIDERS, MAKING THIS EVENT ACTION PACKED, WITH LOADS OF GRIPPING AND EXCITING RACING. GIRLS AND BOYS FROM GERMANY, SLOVAKIA, LATVIA AND THE NETHERLANDS CAME TO COMPETE AND TRY OUT THERE SKILLS ON THIS DEMANDING TRACK.
BETHAN HALLETT HAD TO SETTLE FOR SECOND IN BOTH ROUNDS AFTER BEING CLOSELY PIPED FOR FIRST BY A EUROPEAN RIDER FROM THE NETHERLANDS IN THE 13-15 YEAR GIRLS A FINALS, SUPER MUM PAULA HALLETT ALSO RODE WELL TO TAKE A THIRD AND FOURTH PLACE, FOR THE 25 AND OVER LADIES. RYAN O'LOUGHLIN RIDING 6 AND UNDERS DID THE BUSINESS ON DAY ONE WITH A FANTASTIC FIRST PLACE AND A WELL DESERVED SECOND ON DAY TWO, AFTER HAVING TO RACE A RE-RUN. JOSH COPPIN ALSO UNSTOPPABLE ON DAY ONE PICKED UP A FIRST , WITH A THIRD ON DAY TWO, FOR THE 7 YEARS AGE GROUP. EDDIE MOORE PUT IN SOME GREAT RIDES AND TOOK THIRD AND SEVENTH FOR THE 9 YEARS OLD BOYS, BROTHER JOSH MOORE HAVING BETTER LUCK RODE STRONG TO BRING HOME A THIRD AND FOURTH FOR THE 10 YEARS BOYS. 10-12 GIRLS SAW SHANNON BLAKE WITH A SEVENTH AND SIXTH IN A B FINAL ALONG WITH BIG BROTHER BEN BLAKE HAVING SOME TESTING MOTO'S TO FINISH FIFTH AND FOURTH ALSO IN THE B FINALS. JAY COWLEY IN THE 19 AND OVER MALES FINISHED WITH A FOURTH IN  B FINAL IN HIS FIRST ROUND WITH A SIXTH PLACE IN AN A FINAL IN THE SECOND, WERE DID THAT COME FROM? NEXT NATIONAL WILL BE HELD AT COPPULL, NOT BEFORE WE'VE BEEN TO THE BRITS WHICH WILL BE IN PETERBORUGH 23rd & 24th AUG

Round  7
A JOURNEY TO HARTLEPOOL WAS THE DESTINATION FOR THE BRAVE 6 OF TIVERTONS BMX CLUB. AND AS IF THE TRIP UP WASN'T LONG ENOUGH, THE TRACK IT'S SELF WAS JUST AS LONG.
BOASTING 6 LEG BUSTING STRAIGHTS, AROUND 20 DIFFERENT JUMPS AND MEASURING 422 METERS IN LENGTH, RYAN O'LOUGHLIN ONCE AGAIN SHOWING WHAT HE'S REALLY MADE OF, KEPT HIS RIVAL FIRMLY BEHIND HIM TO TAKE THE ALL IMPORTANT FIRST PLACE IN THE 6 AND UNDERS. WHILST JOSH COPPIN AGAIN HAD THREE FANTASTIC MOTO'S ONLY TO TAKE ON UNLUCKY FALL IN HIS FINAL TO FINISH EIGHTH IN THE 7 YEAR AGE GROUP.
PETER MOORE RODE STEADY IN THE 19 OVERS TO FINISH FOURTH IN THE B FINAL, ALONG WITH JAY COWLEY WHO FINISHED THIRD. DARREN FLINT IN THE MASTERS GROUP TOOK EIGHTH PLACE, AND OUR FEMALE RIDER FOR THAT DAY WAS BETHAN HALLETT, PUTTING IN SOME FINE RACING FINISHED WITH A WELL DESERVED THIRD PLACE IN THE 13 - 15 GIRLS.
NEXT NATIONAL ROUNDS WILL BE HELD AT BURNHAM - ON - SEA

Round 6
ALL THE A's FOR TIVVY BMX  
ROUND 6 OF THE NATIONAL ROUNDS WAS HELD IN THE BEAUTIFUL SETTING OF RINGWOOD PARK IN CHESTERFEILD. AND THERE TO GREET US WAS THE SUNSHINE, A RARE SIGHT FOR BMX.
A FAST AND JUMPY TRACK WAS NO MATCH FOR BETHAN HALLET IN THE 13-15 GIRLS, WHO HAD SOME GREAT MOTO'S AND THEN PICKED UP A WELL EARNED SECOND PLACE IN THE A FINAL. THE OTHER RIDER TO PICK UP A SECOND WAS OUR 7 YR BOY JOSH COPPIN, HAVING TO COMPETE AGAINST 18 RIDERS, AND MAKE IT THROUGH A SEMI - FINAL. RIDING TRUE TO FORM, WITH SOME EXCELLENT RACING. RYAN O'LOUGHLIN IN THE 6 AND UNDERS HAD THREE STEADY ROUNDS AND WAS PIPED IN HIS FINAL TO TAKE THIRD. ELLIE SKINNER ALSO RODE WELL IN THE JUNIOR GIRLS TO SECURE HERSELF A SIXTH. GUNSLINGER ROCK STAR RIDER EDDIE MOORE TOOK THE ROUGH WITH THE SMOOTH TO FINISH EIGHTH, AND JOSH MOORE PEDALLED HIS WAY FOR A COMFORTABLE FOURTH. NEXT NATIONAL ROUND WILL TAKE PLACE AT HARTLEPOOL EVEN FURTHER UP NORTH, ON THE 28th - 29th JUNE

Round 4 & 5
A WIN FOR O'LOUGHLIN "
ROUNDS 4 & 5 SAW THE TIVERTON BMX CLUB TRIPPING TO MANSFIELD UP NORTH, FOR A WEEKEND OF GOOD WEATHER AND EXCITING BMX RACING.
RYAN O'LOUGHLIN DID THE BUSINESS ON DAY TWO, TO TAKE A WELL DESERVED FIRST PLACE TROPHY IN THE SIX & UNDER CLASS WITH A THIRD THE PREVIOUS DAY. JOSH COPPIN IN THE SEVEN YEAR AGE GROUP HAD SOME TACTICAL RIDERS TO COMPETE AGAINST LEAVING HIM WITH TWO THIRD PLACES. EDDIE MOORE IN THE NINE YEARS AGE GROUP HAD A GOOD ROUND ON DAY ONE TO FINISH FOURTH BUT WAS UNLUCKY TO FALL ON THE LAST STRAIGHT ON DAY TWO, SO HAD TO SETTLE FOR EIGHTH, BROTHER JOSH HOWEVER WAS CONSECUTIVE BOTH DAYS WITH FORTH PLACES FOR THE TEN YEAR AGE GROUP. BEN BLAKE WHOSE RACING REALLY WELL IN THE 15 - 16 YEAR AGE GROUP HAD A MUCH BETTER SECOND DAY WITH A WELL DESERVED FIFTH AFTER A THIRD IN THE B FINALS ON DAY ONE, SAM HANN WHO ALSO RACES IN THIS GROUP HAD SOME GOOD MOTOS, BUT JUST WAS UNLUCKY TO QUALIFY. DARREN FLINT ARE MASTER RIDER HAD A VERY RESPECTABLE SIXTH IN THE B FINAL, CRUISER RIDER. IAN WHEELER ALSO IN THE B'S TOOK A SECOND, DOING IT FOR THE GIRLS WAS BETHAN HALLETT IN THE 13 - 15 GIRLS, HAVING A GREAT RIDE TO TAKE A THIRD ON DAY TWO, AND A SIXTH THE DAY BEFORE. BENS SISTER SHANNON BLAKE WAS CONSISTENT BOTH DAYS TAKING EIGHTH IN B FINALS AFTER ONE UNLUCKY FALL, AND TO TOP OFF THIS DOUBLE-HEADER WEEKEND, ELLIE SKINNER RODE WELL AND WAS IN THE MIX TO TAKE EIGHTH ON THE DAY ONE AND A SMOOTH SIX PLACE ON DAY TWO,
ROUND 6 OF THE NEXT NATIONALS WILL BE HELD AT CHESTERFIELD 7-8TH JUNE

Round 3
The weather held off for most of the racing, which took place at Cheddar, Somerset, much to the delight of our Tivvy riders who took part in round 3 of the national series. 385 riders were riding strong and 10 out of 12 of our riders pedalled themselves some fab results.
Ryan O'loughlin rode this fast track well in the 6 & unders with Josh Coppin in the 7's both coming second in the A finals,
The Moore brothers Eddie & Josh had a third and a fourth in the 9 & 10's a finals, in 10 - 12 girls Shannon Blake missed out in the A final but took a great win in the B final, some tough racing in the 15 - 16's saw brother Benjamin Blake pass the line for a third in a B final.
Bethan Hallett had a second in the 13 - 15 girls and junior female rider Ellie Skinner a sixth both in A finals. 
Cruiser rider, Ian Wheeler picked up a third in the B final and to finish off some excellent performances Paula Hallett had a sixth in the 25 and over ladies,
next rounds 4 & 5 take us up country to Mansfield 17 / 18 may 2008

Rounds 1 & 2
EGGCEPTIONALLY COLD EASTER WEEKEND UP AT BURNHAM ON FREEZE !
Rounds one and two of the national series, started early this season in freezing conditions. but it didn't stop 12 of our Tivvy riders making the trip to Burnham on sea, and achieving some great results. In the 6 and unders, Ryan O'loughlin our last remaining pocket rocket, stormed through to the A final in both rounds with a fifth and a second place, also on fine form as usual was Josh Coppin, having also got through to two A finals, picking up first and second for the 7 yr group, great start for these two boys. In the 9 yr age group Eddie Moore rode well to pick up second in the A final of round one but was unlucky on his second round and finished with a well deserved seventh. His brother Josh Moore had two steady rounds in the 10 yr age group getting himself through to two A finals and finishing third in both. Sam Hann did his stuff again after picking up some great results in the 15 - 16 yr age group with a fifth in the A final on day one and fourth in the B the next. Fellow team mate Ben Blake rode well giving it his best shot making it through to the B finals of both rounds with a forth and a well deserved first. Sister Shannon Blake also giving it her all in the 10 - 12 yr girls finishing a sixth and a fifth in the B finals. Bethan Hallett also doing it for the girls put in a fine performance to take a fifth and a third in the A finals of the 13 - 15 yr girls with mum Paula Hallett coming in fouth and third of the ladies 25's and over. Cruiser rider Ian Wheeler had a third and a fifth in the B finals but the competition was a bit tough for the two of our riders Pete Moore and Darren Flint. Keep it up though boys, well done every one a great start.
