Track side was packed with the green shirts of all the South West riders, for the British BMX Championships held at Burnham-on-sea. The riders parade was a spectacle to be seen and the cheers and whistles could be heard for miles.
Excellent results followed for the 15 Tiverton riders taking part with 9 coming home with a ranking.

In 6 and under class Josh Coppin and Ryan O’Loughlin both raced excellent motos and had to qualify through the semi for a place in the final, which they both did with style, they were unlucky in the final, both taking falls, Josh taking home 6th and Ryan 8th.
Shannon Blake was unlucky going out in the semi in 7-9girls, as did Eddie Moore in Male 8 yrs.Three Tiverton riders featured in Male 9 yrs, Josh Moore who took 4th while Connor Cutler was unlucky going out in the semi and Elliot Norrish who missed out in the motos.
Oliver Fay raced well in the Male 11yrs taking a well deserved 3rd place.
Tivertons shinning star, again, was Bethan Hallett, who took 1st place with ease throughout the motos and the final, making her British and National Champion.
Sam Hann was pleased with himself in Male 14 yrs, qualifying through the semi to take overall 6th place.
Fast and Furious racing followed in Male 15 yrs, with Jason Fay and Ben Blake, taking 1st and 2nd in the semi they went on to finish 2nd and 3rd respectively in the final.

Paula Hallett raced well in 25+ Ladies but after taking a hard fall in the final had to settle for 7th place overall.
The South West region took 1st place out of the 5 regions taking part with Tiverton BMX Club finishing 8th out of 40.
A fantastic event, well done to all the Tiverton riders.

British BMX Championships - Harworth 17th September 2006

Thirteen Riders from Tiverton BMX Club made the trip to Harworth last weekend, for what is the biggest UK BMX event, The British BMX Championships, with all the regions together and all riders competing for the all important 01 plate.
In Male 7 years Tiverton had Eddie Moore, who rode an excellent race through the motos with 1st, 2nd, and 3rd, finishing an overall 5th in the final. Brother Josh, in Male 8 years, rode a steady 2nd throughout the motos and a great 4th in the final, also riding in the 8’s were Connor Cutler and Ryan Allington, Connor rode well and made it to the semi finals, Ryan, in his first race at expert level, just missed out.
Oliver Fay had a disappointing day with a fall in his first moto, 1st and 2nd followed in the motos but another fall in the semi denied him a place in the final.
Ian Wheeler found the going tough in 16-29 cruiser and didn’t progress any further than the motos.
Two Tiverton riders in Male 13 years, Sam Hann and Connor Hallett, Sam took a fall in his first moto but dusted himself off to go on and finish in 5th place while Connor had good results in the motos but just missed out in the semi final.
Ben Blake raced along with Jason Fay in Male 14 years, Ben had great results in the motos and semi, he finished in 3rd overall while Jason, returning from illness raced very well to take 7th in this highly competitive competition.
In Female 7-9 Shannon Blake gave it her best shot to finish in 7th overall while in Female 10-12 years, Bethan-last minute-Hallett breezed through the motos and seemed content to stay in 3rd place in the final, but come the last straight she found a burst of energy from somewhere and snatched 2nd place on the line.
Despite getting straight 2nd’s throughout the motos Dereck Cutler was robbed in the semi and denied a place in the overall final.
Well done to everyone this was an extremely tough competition and you all did very well.

British BMX Championships - Cheddar September 26th 2004
The British BMX Championships at Cheddar attracted over 400 riders from the whole country, all dressed in the colours of their region. Tiverton has once again got two British Champions, Bethan Hallett and Oliver Fay have both retained their titles.

A total of 20 riders in the 6 under age group, four of these from Tiverton, Josh Moore, Connor Cutler (who must have had 4 weetabix for breakfast!) Eddie Moore and Shannon Blake, competing for the first time as an expert. Shannon went out in the motos, Eddie made it to the semis while Josh and Connor made the grade by taking 3rd and 4th respectively.

One rider was all that was needed in the 8 year olds, Oliver Fay. He was chased all the way and had to work hard but finished in style to be British No 1 along with his titles of Regional No1, National No1 and South West No1.

In the 10 year olds we had Daniel Hill and Troy Gallagher, with 24 riders in this age group it was tough going. Daniel finished in 2nd. Troy went out in the semis.

Our riders suffered disappointment in the 11's. Sam Hann didn't make it out of the motos and Connor Hallett was boxed in and only just missed out in the semis.

Ben Blake and Jason Fay rode in the 12 year old age group, both rode exceptional races to finish in the top 8. Jason took 4th with Ben in 7th.

Further disappointment in the 15 - 16 age group with 31 riders making the racing highly competitive, Oliver Owen went out in the motos, Sam Fowler and Jay Gallaway missed out in the semis.

Bethan Hallett proved herself to be a Champion by retaining her British No1 for the second year, this goes along with her Regional and National No1's. Bethan was followed by Emma Coles in 2nd place, Rebecca Hill in 4th and Deyonne Gallagher in 6th.

The 30 - 39 cruisers was a very tight group, Stephen Hassell and Dereck Cutler raced well, Stephen took 5th with Dereck in 7th. Steve Jenks took 8th place in the 40+ cruisers.

Great racing from the Tiverton Ladies, Mandy Cutler finished 6th and Paula Hallett 7th.

Tiverton faired well in the Club Championships finishing 5th out of 38 other clubs, the South West were 1st in the Regional Championships. Only going to show that the best of Britain come from the South West.
